Description
These little envelopes are called pōchi-bukuro, and they’re a traditional part of Japanese gift-giving culture. Kids are especially likely to receive money in a pochi-bukuro during the new year, but they’re also used for informal gift-giving in other contexts.
This set is cream-colored, with a red maker’s mark on the back and a blue line drawing of the Statue of Liberty on the front. The Japanese text says “Use it freely.”
Three washi-paper pochi per package. 108 x 68 mm (4.25″ x 2.67″) each.
