Description
For Dreamy, Wet-in-Wet Painting
Inspired by the watercolors of J.M.W. Turner, Hahnemühle has created a uniquely expressive paper from 100% cotton rag. This subtly cold-pressed paper is mold-made, a slow process that allows all the cotton fibers to align for extra strength and stability.
Turner is one of our most absorbent watercolor sheets; lightly sized and quite soft, it can take many layers of color and water without giving out. We suggest using Turner for wet-on-wet painting, with washes and intense applications of color into washes.
Available in glue-bound blocks with 10 sheets each. 300 gsm (140#).
Hahnemühle Since 1584
Hahnemühle is an historic European papermaker, with a history that reaches back 400 years to the earliest milling activity near Dassel, Germany. The rivers that flow through this region have provided Hahnemühle a key raw material (water) and a source of clean power for many, many years. Today’s Hahnemühle builds on this rich history with high-quality paper products, made with a close eye on sustainability.
Hahnemühle — Respecting Nature
Hahnemühle only uses primary paper pulp that comes from sustainable and FSC- or PEFC-certified tree farms. In these responsibly managed areas, 3-4 trees are planted for each tree harvested.
As early as 1965, Hahnemühle was the first paper manufacturer worldwide to produce exclusively vegan papers. Animal glues made of gelatin or substrates of animal origin are not allowed in Hahnemühle papers. Instead, Hahnemühle uses a synthetic sizing to treat its papers. This vegan sizing is biodegradable; it contains no genetically modified organisms; and it’s free from harmful or toxic substances.
