AE WATERCOLOR PAINTING PANELS
Watercolor on wood panels? It’s not only possible; it’s actually easy with American Easel Watermedia Painting Panels. Use your favorite gouaches, watercolors, and water-based inks on AE’s unique, partially-absorbent surface.
The surface is more textured than almost any watercolor paper, but it’s still smooth enough for your usual brushes and tools. You can also sand it down (make sure to wear a mask when sanding anything, especially painted surfaces) to create a smooth, ‘hot press’ surface.
Lifting, layering, and blending will all work on AE’s special watercolor primer. Try this panel with mixed media, including watercolor pencils, acrylics, pastels, and many more painting and drawing media.

This cradled panel is studio-depth: it measures 7/8″ from the surface to the back of the support. This narrower profile is perfect for framing or for use in studios and classrooms, where storage space is at a premium. The quality, structural integrity, weight, and price are all the same as the gallery-depth line, so you can choose the profile that works best for you.
